Suy:u Elementary had a wonderful back-to-school fair last night at which students and families were welcomed to campus to get their students' schedules, free haircuts, and other resources from community partners. Families were welcomed onto campus to meet staff, Principal Santos, and Crispin, too!

We use ParentSquare to communicate with families and staff, and many of our school sites are using the same unified platform for school communication, too. We encourage you to download the ParentSquare app from Apple or Google Play to seamlessly receive messages from SCUSD and schools using ParentSquare right to your phone! Also, we encourage you to sign into ParentSquare using the email address we have on file in our student information system (Infinite Campus) and setting up your account preferences, including your preferred language to receive messages. We pull contact information from Infinite Campus, so make sure that your Parent Portal in Infinite Campus is active and that your contact information is noted correctly.

The purpose of Child Find is to locate and evaluate children who are suspected of having a disability. Referrals can come from parents, teachers, doctors, or any concerned individuals. The referral process may result in a student study team meeting and evaluation of the student to determine if the student is eligible for special education. If a student is eligible for special education, an Individualized Education Program (IEP) will be developed to outline the specific supports and services the child will receive. Early identification and intervention are crucial in providing children with the best possible educational outcomes. We encourage families, community members, and agencies to be vigilant and proactive in identifying children who may have disabilities. If you know a child who might benefit from special education services, please contact our office to make a referral. To make a referral, please contact your local SCUSD school administrator, or the Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) office:Email: SELPA@scusd.edu Phone: (916) 643-9163
